A Chat with Briannagh Dennehy, a Young Up – and – Coming Artist…

For this blog post, my friend, Skylar Hansen-Raj, and I set out to do a feature post on Briannagh Dennehy, a junior in our school who juggles both her rigorous academic course load and a rapidly growing career in the entertainment industry. Briannagh is a 17 year old singer, songwriter, and actress from New York who has produced various songs, with a personal favorite of mine being Feel the Beat — the song draws from her Caribbean-American roots and hit #1 in 24 countries. She has gone on to perform in various festivals, parades, and schools, and has also appeared on shows such as Disney’s “Bizaardvark”, Golden Globes and Emmy Awards nominee and winner “This is Us”, as well as several Nickelodeon shows and television commercials. The Girl in Black…

If you know me, then you probably know that I’m the type of girl who would wear black on black on black, especially in the fall and winter months, with some of my friends even joking, “Dasha is the only person that I know who could wear all black, everyday, and still look good.” A good 1/2 of my closet, if I’m not wrong, should be composed of solely dark colors. If you know me, though, then you must also know that I almost always have a smile on my face. Is black sad, then? Continue reading “The Girl in Black…”

10 Things I Can’t Live Without…

We all have a few things in our lives that we’re so attached to that they’re basically married to us. As my previous blog posts thus far have been on rather heavy topics, I decided to take a more casual, personal, get-to-know-me route with this one. No doubt, God, my friends, and my family are most important, and of course, the life necessities, but as far as materialistic things go, here’s 10 that I absolutely cannot live without, such that they’ve basically become a part of me! Life is a Gift (Part 2)…

Exactly one year, one month ago, I wrote a blog post titled “Life is a Gift” (check it out) after recovering from my admission in the ICU with severe malaria — a tribulation that could’ve cost me my life. With the ordeals that have occurred recently — the Dusit D2 attack in Nairobi, Kenya, and the Ethiopian airline crash, just days ago, that claimed all 157 lives in the airplane — I thought it fitting to reiterate the fact that life indeed is a gift.
